Finding your due date

Three ways to check your QLD rego

Official TMR rego check

Enter your plate on the Queensland Government site for live registration status and expiry.

Open the check
Your renewal notice

TMR posts one notice about 4 weeks before expiry (email only if you've opted in). The due date is on it.

Call 13 23 80

Phone TMR and they'll confirm your registration expiry over the line.

Why it matters

Missing it costs far more than a reminder.

Hundreds in fines

Driving an unregistered vehicle carries on-the-spot penalties — and repeat offences can see the vehicle impounded.

You're driving uninsured

Rego includes your CTP insurance. Crash while expired and you can be personally liable for the other person's injuries.

Cameras are watching

Automated number-plate cameras scan Queensland roads for unregistered vehicles. Forgetting isn't a safe bet.

Never miss it again — $5/year
Questions

QLD rego check FAQ

How do I check when my QLD rego is due?

Your due date is printed on your renewal notice, or you can look it up free on the Queensland Government's official rego check using your plate number. Enter that date in the tool above to see your countdown and set reminders.

Is this the official Queensland rego check?

No. The official registration status check is run by Transport and Main Roads (TMR) — we link straight to it. RegoPass is a reminder service that makes sure you never miss the due date once you know it.

Does Queensland remind me before my rego expires?

Only one renewal notice, posted to your registered address (email only if you've opted into e-notices). TMR's proactive email reminders are opt-in and don't start until 3 days before expiry. By law you must renew on time even if the notice never arrives — so an independent backup is worth having.

What happens if I drive on expired rego in QLD?

An expired rego means you're unregistered — which also means no CTP insurance. On-the-spot fines apply, cameras detect unregistered vehicles, and if you cause a crash you can be personally liable for the other person's injuries.

How does RegoPass remind me?

It drops a rego card into your Apple Wallet (Google Wallet coming) and sends escalating reminders at 30, 14, 7 and 1 days before your due date — across your Wallet, push and email (SMS coming soon).
